Visit the High Line!

Have you visited the new High Line park yet?  If not, you should take a stroll down to Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking district to check out the new futuristic elevated park along Washington Street and 10th Avenue.  Only the first section is open spanning from Gansevoort Street to 20th Street.  Also, check out Spencer Finch's stained glass installation entitled The River That Flows Both Ways.    This work is located on the High Line in the semi-enclosed former loading dock between 15th and 16th Streets, where the High Line passes through the Chelsea Market building.  If you want to get a guided walking tour, or find out about happenings in the park just look at the High Line events page.

A great time to check out the park is during the day or early evening.  There are plenty of cute restaurants in the area to check out, but my two picks are Los Dados or Zampa.  Both restaurants are perfect for a late lunch or an early dinner.  Los Dados is located just outside the entrance to the High Line park, and Zampa is a couple of blocks away on 13th Stret (at the corner of 8th avenue)

What to do: Visit the High Line park and a meatpacking restaurant
When to go: Afternoon or early evening - any nice day!
What to wear: Casual attire
